A Walk in the Park

On the road again...we left Pittsburgh and after a few hours arrived in Johnstown.

After a day in Pittsburgh indoors we were anxious to be outside, Adelaide really needed to burn off some energy. So we spent an afternoon in the woods behind Aunt Susie's house and a few hours in the backyard of Bubba and Pap Jons.

Excuse the face on A, I'm pretty sure she was getting squeezed so that she wouldn't run away. Surprise...a picture of me...I really was on this trip.

Annual trip to Pitt

Another year, another trip to PA. First stop, outside of Pittsburgh. We weren't able to go to Bloomfield this year because Grannie Frannie is in a nursing home temporarily. A few weeks before our trip north she had a fall which meant a trip to the rehab center.

If you look closely you will see that Grant is all excited over the containers in the background...J B Hunt.

Nice Hair

Poor kid, I swear she gets her hair cut once a month and it is still all over the place.

backsplash and cabinets

The kitchen didn't have a real back splash before, just the ugly couple inch lip of Formica. We now have a full back splash of beautiful tumbled stone set on a diagonal. It took almost an entire day and two men to do it, which means we are even happier that we did try to attempt this one on our own.

Notice that all of the cabinet doors are off of the hinges. Grant added approximately 9 inches to the top of our cabinets which gives them a completely different look. I sanded, primed and painted all of the cabinets and doors which was a long LONG process, but very happy with the results.

Believe it or not we used to be able to park in our garage. This is a cleaned up version of what it looked like while we were in the middle of the project. Unfortunately we still have not cleaned up the garage so we are still parking in the driveway. It has been way too hot to spend any time outside or in the garage.

Heart Walk

Please help me support the memory of my Pappy Beitler by supporting the First Coast Heart Walk...

Grant, Adelaide and I will be walking on the Mercantile Bank team in late September. This will be our second year participating in this event, we are hoping that it will be cooler this year.

school birthday party

Here are a few photos they took at school for Adelaide's birthday party. It wasn't on her actual birthday, but they didn't know the difference.

Yes, that is my child all clean, but picking her nose. I have got to stop letting her have so much Daddy time.

This is the little booger who taught Adelaide to scream for no reason.

See Mommy, I can come home from school clean.

First week

In honor of Adelaide's 2nd birthday, I thought that I would post some pictures of her first week. Enjoy, I know I did.

There she, the first few moments in the house and we weren't sure how Buddy was going to react. We had been using a baby doll that cried so that he wouldn't freak out. All Buddy wanted to do was love on her. Over the two years they shared the house there was a definite love/hate relationship, but now she just calls him and waits for him in her crib every morning.

2 years later and she still has those dimples.

If Adelaide were looking at this picture with me she would say, "BeBe, nigh nigh."

Feel the love

Please excuse the mom in this picture, she just went through 41.5 weeks of pregnancy and 2 days in a hospital bed getting pumped with drugs.

new counters

After many hours of roaming granite yards, I would like to introduce you to my new counters...Shiva cream. The counters were just the beginning of our kitchen project. I take that back, the real start was when the refrigerator died and the dishwasher was taunting us. this started the domino effect. So this is part one of the pictures...counters. Photos to come will be of new appliances, refinished cabinets, back splash and paint.
I can't tell you how glad we are to have this done!

new to the 1s

Adelaide's daycare teacher sent me some pictures that she had taken when Adelaide was new to the one year old room. I can't believe that she is already going to be moving to another classroom. She is going to start to transition slowly with a few hours a day. The good thing is that she is a part of a pack of kids who have been together since they were teeny tiny.

neighborhood splash park

We spend a lot of time at our neighborhood splash park which includes making friends, stealing toys and trying to put our fingers in the holes where the water is supposed to come out. Oh and we get yelled at for putting our fingers in the holes where the water is supposed to come out.
