Growing Up

We are very fortunate that Adelaide has always been a good sleeper.  Granted there have been bumps in the road, but for the most part neither Grant or I have been lacking sleep in the last few years.  A few months ago Adelaide started fighting us when it was bed time and we weren't understanding.  She was screaming, crying and waking up in the middle of the night.  Yes, we have kept her in a crib because she never fought or tried to climb out.  Finally Grant and I agreed we had to do something which meant trying out the Big Girl Bed.  Long story short...she has never looked back at the crib.  We didn't do the toddler bed or the twin, we skipped right on to the full size and she loves it.  Each night we listen to her talk her self to sleep and in the morning she starts yelling for us to come and get her.  I wake up in the morning to "good morning mommy, wake up, I have to potty, wake up time for school, etc".  Oh and don't let the potty comment fool you-she is still a diaper wearer at night and I don't see that changing for awhile.

Loving her new bed and especially since Daddy usually takes naps with her on the weekends.

You have to look close, but she is in there somewhere.
The great thing about this post is it makes me happy to have achieved 1 of my 2 goals I set before the new baby entered this house - Adelaide out of her bed and not caring about her crib anymore.  Adelaide's feeling on the bed is that it is the baby's and she will occasionally look in there and say "ssshhhh baby sleeping".
Goal 2 which I MUST achieve in less than 2 months is NO MORE DIAPERS!!  I'm not worried about the one bed time diaper, but we are currently wearing panties, pull ups and diapers at any given point of the day.  Hopefully when I am home full time in a few weeks we will get the potty training under control.  More on that subject later.

Where have we been?

So where have we been over the last month or two?  Grant asked me this week if I didn't like to blog anymore and I asked him why, his response was a reminder of how long it has been since I opened this page.  So over the next few weeks I am going to try really hard to catch up.  Since some of these events happened two months ago my baby brain isn't exactly fresh on the activities, but I will try.

Adelaide and Daddy at the beach, no worries folks - this beached whale will not be in these photos.  At 7.5 months pregnant I prefer to stay behind the camera instead of in front of it.

No, there isn't anything wrong with my camera the weather was really goofy in Ponte Vedra Beach this day.  I can't complain though, it wasn't hot and we had practically the entire beach to ourselves.  We are those horrible Floridians who don't take advantage of our surroundings as often as we should considering I think we only go to the beach 2 or 3 times a year.  It is so much easier to just hop in the pool versus packing up the car with enough food, drinks, toys, towels, change of clothes and on and on and on.

We have had a few car trips which I will get into more detail on later.

Grant went on a guys weekend with his dad and of course all that he came home with is one little picture.  A long weekend of golf, drinking, eating and baseball games and one little picture.  Not that I can say much considering Adelaide and I stayed home with GG and didn't manage to take any pictures.

Before I got the notice that my position was being eliminated we had a cleaning lady.  This was one of the last notes we received from her, why she didn't quit before I had to let her go I will never know.  When I saw this I laughed like you wouldn't believe.

A little dress up with Grr, too bad I don't have a picture to show him in the princess gear.

Last but not least this is Adelaide the repeat.  Everything that we say or do she thinks is appropriate to do the same. NO this picture was not staged, Grant was standing in the living room watching the tv on the patio and Adelaide apparently wanted to do the same.
