Turn the breeze on

Adelaide absolutely loves when the breeze hits her face. As you can tell from these pictures she had no problem hanging out in her room letting the fresh breeze and sunshine dance on her face.

house hunt

I have mentioned before that Grant and I have been looking at expanding our living space. Is it a necessity at this point...no, BUT it would be really nice. We have been mostly looking in the more historic part of Jacksonville, Riverside and Avondale. The houses in these areas can be either absolutely amazing OR horrible. Two weekends ago Grant fell in love with this gigantic house. It has been completely remodeled with a new HVAC system, wiring, electric, etc. The only thing that we would have to do would be to gut the kitchen and one bath upstairs and then remodel two of the other bathrooms. The house is a traditional craftsman and would be perfect for us, except that I am a little nervous about the street. It may be a little more urban than I am interested in, though it would be nice to be able to walk around the corner to pick up dinner.
upstairs hall area, all the floors need to be sanded and stained, but are in great shape. You can't see from this picture, but the master bedroom has the original glass doors leading to it and would be stunning once the blue carpet was removed.

loving the stained glass, though I fear Adelaide would too.

Will never understand how they still have the original appliances, counters, cabinets, etc but a fantastic dishwasher.

new HVAC system, but left the a/c in the wall

After all of the browsing Adelaide was not a happy camper as you can tell from the picture. but we can't complain, she was as good as you can imagine considering we wouldn't let her out of our arms for a few hours. Of course we made a stop for pizza before we went home, this family loves pizza!

Around the house

Things are warming up in Fleming Island and we are relieved to be able to go outside and play.

so helpful after a trip to Publix
The problem with a non-walker, bruised and dirty knees.

You can't spend all of your time outside.

Fun Springy Day

We have been getting occasional nice weather days, so we took the opportunity to run some errands two weekends ago. Just a few stops: Floor and Decor, Best Buy, Teds for Lunch, Game Stop and Target. Can you believe with all of those stops all we ended up with was lunch? We were on the search for wood laminate floors for the bedrooms and a Wii Fit Plus, no luck on any of those fronts.

After the errands we stopped at the Adam residence for a little fun in the wagon.

Special Delivery

No, I don't mean the pink or blue kind. Adelaide got a delivery at the front door much to her Daddy's dismay...

The only part of physical therapy that A liked was the ball pit, so her GG and Pap sent a special surprise...200 colorful balls to throw all over the house. Right now the balls are in a giant cardboard box until I buy something else to put them in. I am trying to stay away from Target for now until we decide on what to do about our house...buy something bigger, older, remodel our kitchen or save the money.

Long weekend

Tradition has it that the Gasbarro clan heads south in February for a long weekend. Grant has been able to join us the past couple of years, but this year he was able to take the Monday off and I'm sue he was anxious to do so. Grant has been working really hard at his new account so a day away was a really good thing for him.
Friday after work we were in the car and on the road by 6:00, which is always the time that we say we are going to leave and never actually get to so I was excited to be on time. Everything was fine and moving along until we got stuck in the same spot on 75 for over an hour and then there wasn't even a reason for the stop, just traffic. Annoying! The last hour of our six hour drive was tough, but we got to Lehigh Acres safe and exhausted.
You can see how happy Brooke was about this photo op.

Saturday we went to Hannah's basketball game and Brooke's cheering. This is so much fun for us each year and it's crazy to see how much they have progressed. After the game Hannah jumped in the car with us and we ran away to get ice cream, yes before dinner.

This was taken while Hannah was yelling at Brooke, priceless.

Sunday we went to the flea market and wow it was cold. This is the first time that we have gone to Fort Myers and had to wear jackets and sweaters, a little disappointing because we could really use a break from the cold up here.
notice the cookies in Adelaide's hands, she was really mad when she bit into them and found out that they were plastic.
Girls and their scooters.

Monday we headed home right after breakfast and A was great in the car until about Ocala, which is about an hour and a half from our house. As soon as we go off of 75 she pulled her famous trick and started puking all over the car. Needless to say we were relieved to get home on Monday afternoon.
