Exactly four years ago I started this blog not knowing what exactly it was that I was doing or how long it would last.  I found the timing pretty convenient that today when I went to update a few posts I got the message that I was out of space and that this fun little communication piece would now start costing me $5 a month.  Granted I waste much more than $5 a month on plenty of other things, most people know that I am cheap when it comes to paying for things that I can get around.  So with that being said I am going to start deleting posts from four years ago in order to free up some space for all of our future shenanigans.  Don't worry, we are not completely losing the information.  Each year I have a color book printed and bound so that we can check out our memories for many years to come.  The blog books are actually a hot commodity in our house.  Adelaide loves when she is allowed to look at the books which means that they stay above a 3 foot level at all times.  This Momma would literally cry if the books were accidentally torn, colored in, etc.

So here is the photo that started this blog...

Charity Shoot

When a good idea goes bad...

My Mom is on the Board of Directors for the Cathedral Arts Project so when they had one of their fundraising events I thought that it would be a good idea to support the charity and buy a silent auction item.  Little did I know how much time and effort I would have to put into it.
So the item I purchased was a family portrait session as a Mother's Day gift for my Mom.  Great idea, right?  Well after months of trying to schedule around everyone we finally picked a date and location and then the picking and buying coordinating clothing we were ready to go.  We drove an hour to Big Talbot Island and guess what happened when we got there...RAIN!!  So in all of our white and blue clothing we decided to brave the sprinkle and take a few photos with our own cameras while we waited on the photographer to get ready.

We got through a couple of poses with the photographer and then it started to pour.  CRAP!  Well we didn't drive that far and plan all of this just to leave.  So we decided to play in the rain and took a few more photos with our own cameras.  Turns out it was a good thing that we did that because after all of this the memory card failed and none of the photographers pictures were able to be retrieved.

Of course I was a little aggravated with the weather and then the lack of photos, but we are trying it again in December and hoping for good weather and pretty smiles.

Party Party Party

Seems as though all of Adelaide's friends have birthdays in the Fall months.  No exaggeration that we have been to a birthday party every other weekend for what seems like months.  We've been to the Little Gym, ounce houses, barn party and a few more.  Whatever happened to cake and ice cream parties?
Lucky for Penelope that she knows all of Adelaide's little friends too so she gets to tag along too.

Kidding Around

Girls will be girls and parents will sometimes be kids too.  All of the new space in the new house has allowed for all kinds of toys to appear that we forgot about not to mention we are still living with a giant cardboard castle that takes up an entire room.  All of these things lead to pure silliness somedays.

Technically 4

Adelaide woke up the day after her birthday party and guess what...she was actually 4!!  We made butterfly pancakes and spent the morning at the park with cousins.  When did this big girl get so big?

The elementary school is around the corner from our house and every morning Adelaide reminds me that next year she will be five and will be going to the big kid school and ride the big kid bus.  Yes, my heart is breaking into a million pieces.
