Clean Babies

I hear friends tell me about their babies who hate baths and will do anything to get out of taking one.  We have the opposite problem here, my child who should really be named Danger has started climbing into the bathtub herself, sometimes with her clothes on.  At the time we were living in close quarters at my parents, but the love of baths has continued for one child.

Big sister trying to tell little sister no, no.

From this...hard to remember her this little already.

Cousin Time

Lots and lots of girls in this family.  My big sister had two girls three years apart and now I have two girls three years apart so I think it is super cute to see them all together.  Of course that wouldn't have anything to do with the big girls watching the little girls so that the original sisters have some time together.  Our times together don't happen as often as we would like since we live on opposite sides of the state, but when we do get together it is fun!
Our first activity of the weekend was the Catty Shack Ranch, no we aren't talking golf here.  Catty Shack was all about the big cats, it is a sanctuary that is open to the public a few days a month.  We were only a few feet away from these phenomenal creatures and it kept every ones interest.

After our fun cat night the girls spent the next morning at the pool.

The fun didn't stop there because Jacksonville also has an arena football team that's actually pretty good.  Surprise, it was also Star Wars night!

I think we all have a bad habit of getting stuck into the same rut of activities and not taking advantage of all the things that our city has to offer.  The new goal is to find new activities that we haven't done before, especially when we have important visitors.  This trips new activities were Catty Shack, new restaurant for the Mesicks and Arena football.  Another great weekend and a bunch of new activities for all of us.  Next visit is a 5k, convincing big sister to have a sip of beer and gummy making class.  Sad and exciting news is that this post is so old that the next visit is TODAY!

Vacation Break

We would like to take a quick house break in order to bring you vacation!!  That's right, a few days in the house and we were unpacking suitcases instead of boxes in Puerta Vallarta.  In true family vacation tradition we left for vacation the first time on Saturday only to return home.  Another delayed flight out of Jacksonville meant that we would miss the only flight for the day to PV.  So instead of pouting and thinking about our missed night in our prepaid hotel room we invited friends over for dinner.

We were off to the airport again on Sunday and this time we actually made our flights.  You forget how much the little things like transportation excited kids.  We were in a car, two airplanes, train and a taxi all in one day.
In the taxi on the way to the resort we were a little leery on exactly where we were and then all of a sudden the gates opened (literally) and there was our fabulous resort.  We were upstairs in our two bedroom condo in no time and then off to explore.  It didn't take long for Adelaide to start enjoying all of the kid amenities.  In fact we didn't see much of the resort because we spent practically all of our time letting the kids have their fun, made for great naps!

Though we spent most of our days in the kids park and pool we did manage to change out of our bathing suits here and there for dinner.

The resort wasn't your typical Mexican resort, everything was Mayan inspired including a lazy river around a pyramid water slide.  The resort had a ton of restaurants to choose from including a mini mart so that we could cook in the kitchen in our room.  No need for a rental car since we either walked or used the golf carts on the property.  The one thing that we didn't do was spend a lot of time on the beach.  I know, disappointing but the sand was black and considering it was July it was way too hot to walk on let along play in.

Another trip in the books and now back to our regularly scheduled house unpacking.
