The Last of Football

I know everyone is disappointed in the Jags and the Vols performance this year, but we had to send the season off with the bang.  Adelaide got all dressed up to go to the Gator Bowl parade.  She dined on gold fish and watched from one of the suites, it is really tough having a Ya-Ya as the escort.  That was on Saturday.  On Sunday we had a girls weekend at the Jags/Colts game.  Most important part of the day, oh yes - right behind the Volunteer in blue, Mr. Manning himself.
Last but not least, I started my new job on Monday, January 2nd and after a grueling two hours of work I jumped in my car and headed to the Gator Bowl.  Changed in the car, found Mom in her Gator Bowl green jacket and eventually found Kari and Sarah in the tailgating area.  Grant had the girls in the luncheon in the stadium when I got there so I was able to act like an adult and partake in the festivities.  Unfortunately the festivities included all of those darn Gator fans.  However we did have a basketball legend sighting, Artis Gilmore, too bad we weren't sure exactly who he was until after we had asked for his photo.  We saw a seven foot tall man with championship rings, he had to be someone with talking to at least once.

New Year - New Space

What do you do a few days after Christmas when you have realized that your house is at max capacity and not one more thing is going to fit with an explosion occurring?  Well of course you put an offer in on another house.  Yep, after years of talking about it we have finally put our house on the market in hopes of buying a house that will hold of our "stuff."  We have also gone out on a limb and put an offer in on a short sale that needs a whole lot of work.
These are some of the pictures we took while touring the house for the third time.  Somehow I didn't take an exterior picture, but picture a two story red brick house and a whole lot of really bad design choices.  The house was built in 1996 and they managed to put every bad 1980s upgrade that you can imagine.  Lots of marble, dark colors, shiny brass, red formic counter tops, wallpaper, mauve carpet, bright colors and the list goes on.
Now picture the house we are trying to make: dark wood floors, new kitchen layout with white cabinets, granite counters, all new paint, light fixtures, etc.  The house has such great potential and we hope the short sale game will be kind to us considering the house has been empty and on the market for almost two years.  The house is in my parents neighborhood, on the 7th fairway, large backyard for the girls, curved staircase, pergola covered in some kind of vining, great curb appeal and it's 3,200 square foot of living is one of the smallest houses on the street.
Everyone wish us luck as we will be spending our time in between houses at my parents house.  Maybe you should really be wishing my folks the luck because now we are all living back at home, all we are missing is another dog to join the party.

Christmas Guest Blogger

When my wife started this blog I always told her that I wanted to post. Well, I am lazy and lets face it my wife is much more well spoken, thoughtful, insightful than I am.

Adelaide loves doing crafts. My mother loves grand kids doing them. Perfect match

For the record I don't recall any of us taking a Hansel and Gretel esque bite out of the gingerbread house
Naps with my kids are the best
I love pics of my girls grinning ear to ear with my parents. Adelaide's likes to say "that make you happy?" yep

Adelaide loves this pair of pj's. Unfortunately she breaks out in a gnarly looking rash when she wears the top. poor kid

cookies and carrots for Santa / reindeer

Some kids love toys, some love cartoons, my wonderful Bean loves books.
I am sure my Dad and I were supposed to be productive after dinner but it does not appear we were. Sorry ladies

I love pics of my girls having "excited face". When I have a rough day at work I pull them up and it brightens my day. Selena and I are extremely lucky to be so blessed

As yall know Adelaide loves to watch Tennessee football games. Unfortunately Adelaide likes to do the "gator" chomp. We tell her it hurts mommy and daddies eyes. I hope some gentle nudging with "Nupe" has her singing Rocky Top by her second birthday

Adelaide is starting to enjoy playing dress up. Walking through the grocery store with your daughter dressed like this is as much fun for her as it is for Selena and I

3 day holiday weekends with my parents are awesome. Church, food, family, golf, presents, seeing Nupe wearing Adelaide's clothes about 12 months ahead of Adelaide.
