Charity Shoot

When a good idea goes bad...

My Mom is on the Board of Directors for the Cathedral Arts Project so when they had one of their fundraising events I thought that it would be a good idea to support the charity and buy a silent auction item.  Little did I know how much time and effort I would have to put into it.
So the item I purchased was a family portrait session as a Mother's Day gift for my Mom.  Great idea, right?  Well after months of trying to schedule around everyone we finally picked a date and location and then the picking and buying coordinating clothing we were ready to go.  We drove an hour to Big Talbot Island and guess what happened when we got there...RAIN!!  So in all of our white and blue clothing we decided to brave the sprinkle and take a few photos with our own cameras while we waited on the photographer to get ready.

We got through a couple of poses with the photographer and then it started to pour.  CRAP!  Well we didn't drive that far and plan all of this just to leave.  So we decided to play in the rain and took a few more photos with our own cameras.  Turns out it was a good thing that we did that because after all of this the memory card failed and none of the photographers pictures were able to be retrieved.

Of course I was a little aggravated with the weather and then the lack of photos, but we are trying it again in December and hoping for good weather and pretty smiles.
