house hunt

I have mentioned before that Grant and I have been looking at expanding our living space. Is it a necessity at this point...no, BUT it would be really nice. We have been mostly looking in the more historic part of Jacksonville, Riverside and Avondale. The houses in these areas can be either absolutely amazing OR horrible. Two weekends ago Grant fell in love with this gigantic house. It has been completely remodeled with a new HVAC system, wiring, electric, etc. The only thing that we would have to do would be to gut the kitchen and one bath upstairs and then remodel two of the other bathrooms. The house is a traditional craftsman and would be perfect for us, except that I am a little nervous about the street. It may be a little more urban than I am interested in, though it would be nice to be able to walk around the corner to pick up dinner.
upstairs hall area, all the floors need to be sanded and stained, but are in great shape. You can't see from this picture, but the master bedroom has the original glass doors leading to it and would be stunning once the blue carpet was removed.

loving the stained glass, though I fear Adelaide would too.

Will never understand how they still have the original appliances, counters, cabinets, etc but a fantastic dishwasher.

new HVAC system, but left the a/c in the wall

After all of the browsing Adelaide was not a happy camper as you can tell from the picture. but we can't complain, she was as good as you can imagine considering we wouldn't let her out of our arms for a few hours. Of course we made a stop for pizza before we went home, this family loves pizza!
