Haven't forgotten

No, no I haven't fallen off of the blog wagon on purpose, I've been working. The obvious 8-5 working and the home labor. Grant and I have finally taken the plunge into the makeover projects. We have multiple projects going on right now so just about every room in the house is a disaster.
Every night after work we get home, eat dinner, give Tootie a bath and the moment she hits the sheets at least one of us is painting, sanding, cutting, gluing, etc. I don't have the pictures yet, because I have no idea where the cords are in order to plug in the camera. This is the first time I have been on my home computer in what feels like weeks.
Updates to come: kitchen and bathroom

cousins

I couldn't leave out our Sunday in Memphis, a day with family. Adelaide had a chance to get rough and tough with her boy cousins.

Poor Adelaide, can't you tell how much she hated all of the attention, ha!
The House of Blues - I wish Preston was looking up because the eyes on this family are amazing.

Don't be mistaken and call this wrestler a "boy barbie", the boys don't like it when you say such things.

What is that noise?

As a follow up to Florida Bath, this was last night after dinner. Adelaide had been playing outside and she was really hot so we put her in the pool to cool her down. When I started swinging her around she started making the craziest noises. of course the one time we take video she isn't wearing one of her fifteen bathing suits.

Shrimp Fest

We finally made it to the Amelia Island Shrimp Fest this year. The plan was to go eat lunch and then go to the beach. As most of our plans these days turn out, we didn't make it to the beach but we did run into a couple of friends so lunch was even more enjoyable.

Mothers Day

Mothers Day was another special weekend, though my little one and husband are always good to me so the weekend was just another excuse to play.
On Saturday we went to TPC Sawgrass for a few hours. Taking a toddler to a quiet sport was risky, but she was great. I think the only time that she made noise when a golfer was within ear shot was when Phil M was up. Oh and at the very end of the day my Mom decided to teach A about water fountains...not a good idea.
no pictures from TPC, cameras and cell phones are not allowed

After a long day in the heat A was hungry for seaweed salad so we went for Japanese. No, I'm not kidding, the kid loves sushi and seaweed.

A Memphis Wedding

We've been getting excited about this weekend for a long time, Leah and Rich tied the knot. We had an extremely early flight on Friday morning that took us directly from Jacksonville to Memphis. You see we don't get direct flights to anywhere besides Atlanta so for us to get a direct flight somewhere is like heaven in our travel world. We had no issues with airports, rental cars, directions or anything of the sort so we were off to a great start.

After driving around Germantown for a little while we went to Leah's parents and then quickly headed to a morning of beauty. Leah treated her bridesmaids to a mani and pedi, it was really nice way to get the weekend started.

This is Laura, but we like to call her Blinky. A little back story...we all went to Venezuela a few years ago and Blinky could NOT keep her eyes open in any of the pictures. So every time the camera comes out now, I take upon myself to tease her.

This is Leah's sister, Elizabeth.
After our morning at the spa we went back to Leah's parents for a bridesmaid luncheon. This is where we had a fabulous light lunch and then Leah showered us with amazing gifts. Can you tell she spoiled us this weekend?
Stax Museum for the rehearsal dinner. The picture below would be the first night Adelaide stayed up until 10 central time dancing and playing.

Saturday morning we had a chances to roam Beale St before the wedding festivities started again. We went to a place called Little Anthony's where A pigged out on pancakes and then she went crazy when we were leaving and she saw all of the balls lined up outside of the FedEx Forum.
Hair had to be done, of course!

Oh Saturday, the day you would have expected Leah to be stressed and turn into bridezilla, but no luck. We have no stories to tell Leah about how crazy and unrealistic she was being, she was very calm and almost eerie calm.
don't tell, but yes we were drinking in the church.

I brought this garter back for Leah from Belgium.
Pretty family
I don't have any pictures of us while the wedding was happening. Grant was busy trying to keep Tootie busy so that she would notice I was standing at the front.

Can you believe that Blinky had her eyes open and Mark is the one with his closed? History in the making.

Right after a round of Today and Forever we'll be Zetas true.

Our only family picture from the weekend
This is Leah, not only is she one of my best friends, she is also one of Adelaide's first friends. A few weeks after A was born Leah flew in for a few quick days to see us. It was such a good feeling to have a friend come from as far away as Texas to meet my new addition. We didn't get to go out drinking, shopping, lay in the sun or do anything crazy, it was just a weekend of sitting, talking and being with true friends. One thing that Leah said to me a long time ago that I will never forget was, "you know the best thing about you (me) is that we can just sit and do nothing, the pauses in conversations aren't awkward and we don't feel forced to make small talk." Those may not be the exact words, but that's the gist of what she said. True friends can just be there, no matter if they see you everyday (college) or live on what seems like the other side of the world (she used to live in LA). I can't tell you how proud I was to stand up next to Leah on one of the most important days of her life.

Dade City Wedding

You know me, always trying to catch up on the blog and usually a few weeks behind.

A few weeks ago we drove down to Dade City for the weekend to see my step-sister, Vanessa get married. She had a small wedding under an giant oak tree and it was really charming. Adelaide got to play with her cousins and see her Poppy for the first time in awhile. It was a quick trip, down on Friday night and back on Saturday night, but I wanted to a share a few photos from the trip.
