A Little Piece of Quiet

No, I didn't spell my title incorrectly. Grant and I really did find a little bit of quiet recently when we left the girls at YaYa and Grr's house and headed to St. Augustine for a morning of kayaking.  I used piece instead of peace, because if you know grant and I know you know there is never peace between the two of us.  Someone is always getting pushed, harassed, cat called, etc and yes we like it that way.
We weren't sure how this little excursion was going to go as Grant and I have differing opinions on how to kayak. I am proud to report that the only living things to get wet were all of the jumping mullet and stingrays that we saw. This was probably only the case because we didn't dare do a tandem kayak, learned that lesson a long time ago.
Picture water so still that it looked like glass and a distant sound of rushing water hitting the shore on the other side of the sand dune. The weather was a little surreal as it didn't look like Florida at all. There was no sunshine or suntans to be had. The foggy morning made it look as though we were in the mountains.
Three hours later and we were back on shore, jumped in our car for a few stops and then back to rescue the girls or more like the grandparents.
Please excuse the photos as I had to use my phone. I didn't trust my balance in the kayak to use my real camera.
