I was going through the blog trying to get everything updated and I couldn't believe I missed this post. We did Color Me Rad and it was so much fun! This bright idea came from Kari and somehow she got the rest of us to follow. We had a little team of 6 and some of us were in better shape then others. By that I don't mean who has hit the gym recently it more so meant who had hit the bar the night before. We all rode together and because my car only fits 5 my sister convinces my mom to let us borrow her car. Not quite sure how she did this considering it is white with beige interior so we brought lots and lots of towels for the ride home. Good thing we did because we jumped into every spray of color around us and that was before the race started.
I will be the first to admit that about a mile into the ran I was completely over it. The sweat made the color run into my eyes and my sunglasses were too tight but I had to keep them on or else the color would get into my eyes. The event was fun, but next time I might dodge a few of the dousing stations.
We all split off into our own little groups for the race, but got back together at the end. The one thing that the race was missing at the end was the beer. After doing something this ridiculous it only seemed fit to have something gold in hand that wasn't water.
We had no idea what to expect, but now that we know we will be prepared for next time. That includes booking a full body scrub immediately afterwards because getting this color off of our skin wasn't what I would call fun. I am sure I lost a few layers of skin that morning and may have had a little blue tint to my skins for a few days.
