Halloween is Here

I am going to start this not by talking about candy or costumes but by bragging about my job.  Choosing to go to Publix is one of the best decisions that I made for many reasons, but one of the best ones is my schedule flexibility including working from home at least once a week.  When I work from home I get to do the fun stuff like go to school Halloween parades.

Adelaide was really excited about Halloween this year.  I think it was the first time that really understood what was happening and the prospect of all of the candy was great.  We started our day at the dentist.  I probably should have thought about getting her teeth cleaned after Halloween but you know how it is to get a decent appointment at a dentist that you like.  The good news is that they encouraged everyone to wear their costumes that day.

After the dentist we arrived at school just in time to help with P's costume and join the parade.  After the parade there was trick or treating in the classrooms and a party for all of the kids.

My little fairy butterflies send my heart a flutter.

Two stops down and two more to go.  After school we had to go for trick or treating round two where shopping is a pleasure, Publix!  You could say these little girls got some extra attention since this is one of Mommy's stores.  Best part about the trip was when they tried to put an apple in A's bag and she refused to take it.  Are they nuts, this day is about candy.

We really tried to get the girls to eat dinner but the truth is there was no way that these little fairy butterflies were going to be able to sit still.  So we loaded up the wagon and off we went on the candy search.  We met lots of new neighbors, ran into some old friends and literally trick or treated until Penelope fell over.

After P dropped Grant brought her home, but A begged to stay out a little bit longer and we knew the neighbors would be suckers for one more cute little face.  A few more houses and then we were home for inventory of our loot and some taste testing of course.
